The chairman of the MCA Bagan Division, Tan Chuan Hong, pointed out that the 2020 census will be conducted in two phases. The first phase of the census will start from July 7 to September 30 (extended to October 6), through online questionnaire survey ( e-Census).
"The second phase of the census will start from October 7 to 24, and government officials will conduct a door-to-door census."
He attended the Mid-Autumn Festival event organized by the Wanita section of the MCA Bagan division last night and said that the Statistics Bureau had launched a campaign to recruit census enumerators earlier, and the response was not good. In particular, Seberang Perai Utara is currently facing a shortage of manpower.
"The door-to-door census on October 7th is about to start, people who are interested in becoming a census taker are urged to contact Lim Jit Fong (019-5908363), the Division Chief of Publicity Bureau and census coordinator, for details."
He revealed that enumerators have a daily salary of 54 ringgits, 24 days of work can earn 1296 ringgits, and enjoy benefits such as EPF and social. The minimum application requirements are SRP or PMR holders, it will be bonus for who own transportation and have smartphones.
"If you are interested, you only need to attend a simple interview. The authorities will arrange training camps from next Monday to Tuesday, and start the household census from October 7."
He emphasized that the importance of the population census is to allow the government to have reliable statistical data to implement the allocation of resources for planning and development of the country, and to further set compatible policy conditions and economic assistance measures for the Malaysian people.
Teh Lay Cheng, chairperson of MCA Bagan division Wanita section, pointed out that the Wanita section held a small-scale Mid-Autumn Festival activities in order to convey the Mid-Autumn Festival blessings to all walks of life, and passing love out to all.
With the recent surge in corona virus cases, she urged everyone to take preventive measures and strictly abide by the instructions of the Ministry of Health to win the battle against the virus.
